New Aux monitors issue - Phase maybe?
I just brought a small set of Alto M3 monitors as an aux set to check mixes I am doing on my mains.
These monitors have one active monitor that both signals go into with TRS 1/4" to RCA connectors from my 003 and one passive monitor that gets daisy chained from the active monitor with a TRS 1/4" cable. The stereo sound that comes from them is really really wierd, especially the bass, it sound likes its coming from behind or above me. None of the "middle mix instruments" like bass or kick sound like they are in the middle. It gets even worse if I switch to mono, in the middle posistion, at my desk I can only hear the active monitor, the passive one disappears compleatly. If I send a momo signal and pan it hard left or hard right the monitors seem to both be working fine, and are both at the same level, I have also tried various different cables but the same result happens. Any ideas whats causing this?, is this normal for these daisy chained monitors to behave like this in mono? My normal monitors are fine in mono, the mix is right in the middle in front of me. JohnG

Re: New Aux monitors issue - Phase maybe?
Sounds like they are out of phase to me. Put them side by side and send a mono tone from PT. Pan it left, then right, then center. If its softer in the center, they are out of phase.
