Software not recognizing hardware

Hi. In the middle of my session, pro tools shut down. and now no matter how many times i restart my computer, pro tools always says it can't detect the hardware.
In my mbox pro 3 panel it says "device connected, not streaming"

Ive tried restarting the mbox multiple times. I've tried unplugging the firewire-400-to-800 cable from both ends multiple times. Sometimes this happens and a good restart is all it takes. Not today. it's been like this for hours.

What is happening?

My Specs:

Pro Tools 11 (i think .3)
windows 7
computer: hp zbook laptop (the only laptop officially approved for this version of protools)
core i7 intel vPro processor
mbox pro 3
external hardrive & mbox pro firewire connected via a 2 port express card 1394b firewire card into the card port

please help. my work was due an hour ago.

Shut everything down. Reseat the card in the laptop slot and reseat the firewire cable at both ends. Try again. If its still not working, reinstall the driver(make sure you get the correct driver for your particular Mbox). Still not working? Get a new FW cable(they do fail for no good reason)
