Re: Softube Tape
What’s everyone’s opinion of this?? I’ve been tempted by this one before.
Also loving the Drawmer and the new Weis plugins, hard to find these anywhere else. |

Re: Softube Tape
I can only give you my opinion Simon and I think it's a great plugin. It has earned a slot on either the drum-bus or the 2-bus of pretty much every mix I do.
On the 2-bus mostly Type A (Studer)@ 30Ips and maybe with the cross-talk set slightly above nominal. On the drum-bus, anything goes! It pays to experiment with settings. Softube's (Tube-Tech) CL 1B & Pultecs also get a lot of love here.

Re: Softube Tape
I found that Softube TAPE sounds good but there is only one setting I can hear a difference and I read some other guy say the same thing. It is setting B with the saturation turned full up...You can hear it most in the bottom end .The other control are audible but the main tape setting for me is ''B''

Re: Softube Tape
I have the Softube tape plugin but it’s so slow to open it on my old system so i stopped using it. The Hornet tape plugin is much lighter. Very fast to start and very low cpu usage. Not as many controls but sounds great to my ears.
