Different Sample Rate as the Session Question.
Hi, does PT convert the sample rate of a file to match the sessions sample rate?
I am attempting to import files that are 44100 into a 48000 session and a dialog box comes up and says it will be played back at the wrong speed. I have never noticed this before. Doesn't PT automatically convert a file to match a sessions sample rate? How do I get around this? Thanks

Re: Different Sample Rate as the Session Question.
When you import audio(or session data) there should be a checkbox on the next window where you select SRC(Sample Rate Conversion). Checking that should make everything work fine.

The session is 48k 24bit. The audio file I am trying to import is 44.1k and 24bit. Anything else? Thanks

Re: Different Sample Rate as the Session Question.
Have you tried creating a separate 44.1KHz session, importing the recalcitrant file, and then bouncing it out to 48KHz so it will import correctly?

Re: Different Sample Rate as the Session Question.
No.
Does anyone know why I cannot import 44.1k audio into a 48k session. The SRC box is grayed out and does not allow me to convert the file to 48k. Is this normal?

Re: Different Sample Rate as the Session Question.
This is an old post so I'm assuming you figured it out, but just in case you didn't I was having the same issue but resolved it...
When you go to import the audio, once you've selected it rather than clicking "add region" click the option below it "convert region." that grayed box will light up and you'll be in business. |

Re: Different Sample Rate as the Session Question.
Make SURE you don't use your PT interface as the "default sound device." That locks out the sample rate.
