Default Can I open Pro tools MP 9 without going through the M-Audio interface?

I'm new to pro tools...got the pro tools 9 MP + Fast Track Pro studio bundle. When I open the software it only let's me into pro tools if the M-Audio interface is connected and turned on. Is there a way to bypass this to work with the software without needing the interface on? (I want to work with the software on my laptop without lugging extra hardware around.)

No, that's one of the limitations of M-Powered vs. regular Protools.
