Adding a compressor after recording
I was wandering what would be the best way to add a compressor on a recorded file?
One way would be to highlight the entire track and add a compressor that way. I have a feeling this may not be the "right way" though. Would it be better to do it using Aux input and Bus it? For an example the way I add a reverb is to add Sterio Aux>Insert reverb> in sends add Bus1-2> in I/O make sure Mic/Line 1-2 is on> and Analog 1-2 under that in the I/O view. Would this be the way you would add compressor. Thanks for your help GtrDude |

Re: Adding a compressor after recording
It's best simply to insert one on the track.
As a rule, insert compressors and eqs. Buss verbs and delays. That's not to say that there aren't instances when you'd buss to an aux with a compressor on it, but for guitars and voice, and other individual instruments, I always insert.
