midi stuck notes with NI...

having lots of issues with midi stuck notes when I stop PT...
specially with Kontakt and Reaktor. it doesn't send note off.
latest version of everything, any clues?

Experienced the same. Doesn't happen in Logic or Reaper.

so, it is a Pro Tools issue.... not Native Instruments?

I haven't had this happen using Pro Tools but have had it happen when using VIs in standalone. I traced issue to USB issues(cables, etc). I am curious if those experiencing these issues are having them with other manufacturers VIs as well and if it is occurring when using midi and vi tracks or just vi tracks or both?

Random stuck notes with NI vi's have been around for ages and in different daws. Kontakt & Reaktor - not so much. But Absynth will do it on a regular basis. For me it seems to happen when using the sustain pedal quite a bit. PT & DP here and from what I've seen on the NI forums others have had it happen in Cubase as well.

I don't use many VI's but because I have KU11, when i DO use VI's, I use NI stuff the most..

No issues here with PT 12.8.3 on Sierra, with FM8/Kontakt5/Reaktor6/Massive which are the ones I usually use.

Just letting you know that there are others without any issues.

if it happens i'll update this, but it hasn't happened in 2 years now with the AAX plugins.

I do have a suggestion though..

just to see if it's the AAX.. why not download blue cat patchworx demo, and run the au or vst NI instrument in that, and see if it still happens.

Next thing is to start a topic about it at the NI forum, seriously. I have found with VI bugs and issues that if i always just immediately take the time to talk to the dev itself, eventually stuff gets resolved.. NI take AGES to answer via email usually which is why i suggested the forums first, cause someone else might be able to help you..

It's been proven it's not strictly an aax format issue but happens in daws that use au and/or vst format as well. It's been talked abut on the NI forums before - would suggest doing a search there first before starting another thread. Also understand that there is no one single forum as each vi has it's own forum.

While NI people do post there from time to time it's NOT an official support portal.
