Eleven Free - The Zombie Plugin from Hell
No matter how many times I kill it, it keeps rising from the grave. Pro Tools 11 must have some kind of stupid plugin restore that runs every time you start the program. I have Eleven, and it is a minor pain to have to differentiate between one and the other in the plugin list. If I remove Eleven Free from the aax plugins folder, it shows right back up again the next time I start Pro Tools.

Re: Eleven Free - The Zombie Plugin from Hell
It's a core plugin and I think all of them are restored at startup. Don't know for sure, but that's what I guess because once you install PT it does nothing for the included plugins, so the behavior kind of has to be built into the app launch process.
I think the zombie behavior might go away if you delete the plug from the Protools app itself (show package contents, then plugins folder has the secret storage)

Re: Eleven Free - The Zombie Plugin from Hell
I never use it but have had people bring sessions with it in it. So I've never tried to remove it. I usually dupe the track, swap it out and replace with the regular 11 plug. Then inactivate the original ElevenFree track.
While we are on the subject though. It really wouldn't hurt to add a model or two to Eleven Free. I know its supposed to be a taster plug, a freebie, whatever but its so limited comes across as being kinda cheap or mean on Avids part. I realize its better than nothing but its also slotted in the ranks of guitar plugs as almost nothing. Once someone sees first hand what the full Eleven plug or 11rack can do they run out and buy one. Take a look at the amp modeler included Logic and tell how well Eleven Free fares. I'm glad its included with PT but really think it could step up its game a little with out canibalizing Eleven plug sales and possibly encouraging them.

Re: Eleven Free - The Zombie Plugin from Hell
I spent $100 for the Pod Farm guitar amp package. Eleven Free is OK, I use some of the amp models, but it is limited and frankly I think POD Farm can sound better.
