Default Playback for windows and Pro Tools?

I think I know the answer to this, and it's not one that I like, but I'll try anyway.

I have a Surface Pro 4 that I use for travel. Pro Tools 2018 works fine on it with ASIO4ALL as the hardware driver. I want to be able to play windows audio at the same time, mostly mp4 videos.

Has anyone found a way to do this? I tried something called Synchronous Audio Router but that didn't work.

Any help much appreciated.

Hi !

That depends on of interface driver . Rigth now i have a Clarett Pre 8 X and i can work in Protools , play media player , vew youtbe etc . without any conflict or audio drop at all , but with my old digi003 this wasnt possible .

At least i dont know any 3rd party app to do this like the one you mention .

@jeam25 Thanks. The problem is I'm not taking an interface, I'm just using the internal sound card. ASIO4ALL works great, but it only likes one sound source at a time.

You can get an inexpensive interface for under 100 US that will be as good or better than your internal sound card. For many of us we have an interface and then use an actual mixer, a software mixer provided by the interface or a monitor controller to route the signal from the onboard soundcard to Pro Tools and/or our headphones/monitors.

Yes, an interface would be better, and I have a mobile interface, but I'm trying to avoid taking it. Even the smallest interface takes up space.
