Default PT Idea - or help if it's already there.

[Selective SIP]

Was thinking yesterday that it would be nice to SIP (solo in place) with a key command - over the tracks I've selected with cursor.

So say, I've just highlighted two Dx tracks with the mouse... wish then that I could hit a button and have them play solo'd through the processing chain on the tracks.

I know of scrub, but wanted a solution that didn't involve varispeed movements.

Any thoughts?

If I understand correctly, all you need to do is "Solo Safe" the tracks you are sending it through by "Cmd+clicking" the solo button on those tracks. Example: Vocal track going through Reverb Send > Vocal Bus > Main Bus > Stereo Out, you would "Solo Safe" the Reverb Aux, Vocal Bus Aux, and Main Bus Aux. This ensures that when any other tracks are solo'd, these tracks are automatically solo'd as well.

Shift+S is what works, thanks for that. Was thinking it would be cool to just drag over a few regions and hit one key and have those selected tracks play solo'd.

Thanks again.

You could easily set this functionality up with Quickeys: http://startly.com/products/quickeys/mac/4/
