i just worry that eventually my mostly working reliably mc mix / eucon is gonna stop workign mostly reliably after one of these experiments!

You should be able to roll back Eucon versions. But having said that, I obviously didn't test this on my working drive; I still haven't committed 12.3 to that drive either. All these tests are done on my test Hard Drive.

Hey Kyle, if you're listening, I'm ready to give up. Since 12.3 and 3.3.2 PTC has become un-useable. I'm tired of the dropouts! I'm putting a call out to other users experiencing this to make a video showing the dropouts and put them on YouTube. This way when people search online, they'll find that these and see first hand users issues.

I'm having constant drop outs with it too. Avid support said to update EuControl to 3.3.2, which I did. But it still drops constantly. The iPad never loses it's wifi connection, I'm even set up with a static IP. When it drops, I can click over to EuControl settings and it is always there in my list of All Surfaces, but it rarely re-adds it self to My Surfaces. I do it manually and it will stay connected for about 30 seconds to 2 minutes. But it drops again after that. It's pretty annoying. I hope they fix it soon since I use this as my control surface for Pro Tools on my Mac and an Artist Mix for Media Composer on a PC. Switching the Artist Mix between the Mac and PC all the time would be cumbersome.

No love here either. The last several system boots have given me error messages about Eucon having crashed, with an option to send Avid an error report(which I did the first 2 times). On a friend's advice, I tried Jump VNC, which does work okay, but since it reproduces the actual computer desktop on the iPad screen(and I run 3 screens at 1080P) it makes for small buttons on the iPad

I just happened to launch the Pro Tools | Control iPad app while upstairs, away from the studio, and as it happens, close to my router; and I noticed the app connected right away... this, after several days of not working in the studio. I launched Pro Tools (via TeamViewer), and still upstairs, used the Pro Tools | Control app smoothly without issue... so this is encouraging, and seems to indicate my issues were simply wi-fi signal strength-related, which I can hopefully rectify.

My router is about 3 feet from my chair(this router is dedicated to nothing but my iPad). Once its connected, it has no problem going between all the rooms in my studio. Its getting it to connect at all that is driving me nuts

Same setup here, with the exception that the router isn't dedicated but this shouldn't make a difference. Eitherway, this app has been rendered useless over the last month. It worked 'ok' for a while, I was able to deal with the dropouts while tracking; but it would never be a tool that I use with clients in the room.

Which version of PT are you running? I am trying to use it with 11.3 and I know its only rated for 12.1 and above.

The test rig that Eucon 3.3.2 drops and never reconnects is on OSX 10.10.5 w/ PT 12.3

The rig that it drops, but reconnects on with the annoyance of being back on track one of the mix page is OSX 10.10.3 w/ 12.2.1 and Eucon 3.3.1.

To be honest, Dave, I think the issue is related to Eucon morseso than PT's version. When I was in talks with Kyle trouble shooting; I asked some questions about usage that never got answered. I think the whole time they've been gearing this up for 'Dock' and we're the beta testers on the rest of the app.

Valid points! But Dock or no dock, communication still needs to be 100% reliable. I wonder how much time they spent getting it to work before each day of AES???
