Default AvidTech can you answer some questions?

Mostly I just wanna know about how you are going to work Euphonix into Avid. Are the control surfaces going to become better compatable... cheaper? are new devices coming out? Give us some info as your loyal DUC'rs.

More compatibility is definitely in the works. As far as price or new devices - that's something that no one at Avid could talk about specifically without violating their NDA.

Of course someone higher up may get an exception and be able to talk more freely about it, but I would have to leave that up to them.

will the compatibility upgrades be "backward" compatible... meaning PPC users (there's a lot of us out here)

inquiring minds want to know!

Currently EuCon still supports PPC.

Mac OS 10.4 is not supported any more.

Thank you Eucon Support!

I honestly didn't expect an answer

Is there anything you can tell us about what's in the works?

I really am interested in listening to or reading any "press release" type statements about what we can expect.

yes please!!! I believe my Control 24 will be sold tomorrow and the Euphonix is what I'm leaning towards-

I've also looked at Mackie Pro Control and Presonus 24.4.2... but both are backed up in production with a maybe date of July.... and with the Euphonix MC Control Rev2... I might actually be at the forefront of a piece of gear (like next week!!!) instead of when it's on it's way out.

The 3 videos look promising... but the movements are so fast and not much in the way of close-ups I wonder how much grief I'll go thru to get all the prefs, etc set up correctly.. and as i understand it now...presently all functions that the Euphonix is capable of don't worth in PT due to issues with HUI protocols

care to comment on these areas?

I don't think you're going to hear anything more about future development beyond what's been intimated at here. We're rather tight-lipped about that sort of thing, for various (good) reasons...

Ok but if you guys figured out a way to get eucon backwards compatibility into older versions of protools you would sell more interfaces. I'm sure you know this but just to reiterate. Thanks.
