Default Re: Fix Side Chain Delay Compensation NOW please!

Is this an issue in 12.6.1, 12.5.2 or 12.4?

In what versions of PT does side chain delay compensation work properly?

Also, how do we know that normal compression isn't delayed? Like a CLA-76 just doing its usual thing on a vocal track. Are we sure the "attack" knob is attacking (so to speak) when it should be?

its really quite an embarrassing situation for them. or at least it SHOULD be.
hi matt, this has been asked by one person but i have not seen the answer yet ..

in what version of Pro Tools did this begin ?? PT9, when they opened PT to 3rd party hardware ??

I interpreted that to mean the problem is only featured on HDX. lol Now I get it.

So this is a feature request, not a bug. (Or maybe an oversight that HDX just so happens to alleviate.)

it's very bittersweet, but I'm so happy to see others chiming in on this!!! I literally have felt crazy for several years now on this topic. Every time I would bring it up people would look at me like... "huh? what are you talking about?"

And I would say, "trust me, your side chains are out of time. Sucks huh?"

Then they would test it and confirm what I was saying.

So, slowly but surely I've been feeling less crazy but it's nice to have it in writing from fellow users here so hopefully it can be MORE on Avid's radar???

Should there be any reason to need the option to turn the delay compensation off, if the system is working as it should?
hear hear! i've always found it bizarre that you can turn delay comp off. looks like a hold over from a bygone era...

Software monitoring while tracking with stereo effects can produce a weird phased sound when delay compensation is on. That's why.
