Default Lawo as a DAW Controller

Hey Guys,

slightly off topic, but just curious to know if anyone out there is using any lawo console, mc36, 66 or 96 as a music production console/DAW controller.

I am thinking of getting one myself, Lawo says it can be widely integrated, but there are pretty much 0 people out there, at least that I know of, who have made any lawo console the center piece of their studio, at least as far as music production is concerned.

Happy to be educated on this....

I would see if you can download the manual for the console. Then go digging for "HUI" and "Eucon". If the console doesn't offer at least one of those protocols, then its likely to be mostly useless as a DAW controller

You should look at something less obscure ... these console are and have always been for Live/broadcast/theatre/FOH and so on. Never seen one ever in all my years working with studios all over the world. I have seen a select few using them for Live Concerts but studio consoles .. ehrmm Noooooooo!!! No Eucon No Hui and I read that Madi ”Might Work” but not as a PT controller or a good studio mixer. Lawo doesn’t read Great Mic Preamps and input output sound so I would never ever put my money on a Lawo for studio work! Ever!

Connections:
Mic / Line, Line Out, AES, SDI, HD-SDI,MADI, ATM, GPIO, Serial, MIDI, ADAT ®, RAVENNA/AES67, ST2110-30/-31 Audio-over-IP; for details see DALLIS and mc² Compact I/O product information
Stereo and surround monitoring systems

And soundgrid compliant:
Waves Soundgrid® integration with storage of plug-in parameters in snapshot and production data
