PT Pref and Database Helper - OK with 8.0?
I've seen many recommendations for Jean-Charles Deshaies' Pref and Database Helper to trash preference files, etc.
Version 2.2 - adds support for Leopard. Version 2.1 - adds support for PT7.4. There is no mention of support for PT8.0. Are people using it successfully with PT8.0? Any problems? Thanks for your help. Richard

Re: PT Pref and Database Helper - OK with 8.0?
As much I would hate to see Jean-Charles Deshaies lose income shouldn't Digi be adding similar functionality to PT. Something kind like like the "Last Known Good" in Windows that saves last registry settings. Have PT save a snapshot of preferences after startup and running. Then have a key combo for to hold during PT startup to say I want to start with a saved preferences file, or option to ignore the zero out the preferences. Then inside running PT and tools to take a snapshot of preference for later use.
Look at how many posts from DigiSupport to users to wipe the all the config files and restart. A tool to do this should be a utility that ships with PT. Maybe Digi could buy out or license Jean-Charles Deshaies tools and ship it. Digi if you have PT Wishlist please add this to it.

Thanks very much for your help.
Excellent idea, docbop. Perhaps you could start you own thread on this. I'm sure you'd get a lot of support. At the moment, many people may never see your idea, because they will not have read this thread. Thanks again. Richard
