Question PTLE & Virtual Instruments: Low Level Signal?!

Greetings all, its been a while since I have last written.

I have Pro Tools LE 8.4 along with the Mbox2.
I am interested in using virtual instruments with Pro Tools.
So I have created an instrument track, from there I have selected the virtual instrument to use (Structure Free) and thats what I have noticed that the signal meter is very low for that track.
Thinking it is what it is...I connected a pair of headphones to the headphone output of the Mbox2, and when cranked to full, it was extremely low sounding.
I came from a background of recording using the Yamaha AW16G, and was always told that using proper gain structure, you want a strong signal to noise ratio, strong enough, but no clipping.
What confuses me is that the Pro Tools virtual instrument track is actually a lot less level of a signal that when I was previously recording other instruments using a Yamaha AW16G.
I was thinking about increasing the gain on the virtual instrument, but that will only give you about a 6dB increase...So I would like to know what are some other alternatives to increasing the sound of a virtual instrument and is this normal with virtual instuments or am I doing something wrong?

What patch are you selecting within Structure Free?

I tried both, the drum patches and the sine wave patches.
