Default Pro Tools 9 question

Does anyone know if PT 7.4 will open a PT 9 session? I know that PT 7.4 will open a PT 8 session, as I've done it recently. I know I can tell my client to have the studio where the session was recorded to "Save a Copy In..." my format but I'd just like to know if that's necessary or not....

Thanks.

Maybe someone has already actually done this and can give the best answer. Meanwhile, it SHOULD open as they are both .pts files. BUT, any PT9 features(like ADC or MiniGrand) will not be in place, so if the PT9 setup is using virtual instruments, you would be best off by haing those instruments recorded to audio tracks. Personally, this might be a good excuse to upgrade. I can tell you(since I started at 6.1) that the improvements and added features are well worth the money(unless you are using the original Mbox, which won't work).

Thanks albee. It makes sense that it SHOULD open and yes, I get it that the PT9 features would not be in place. Personally, I NEVER need a good excuse to upgrade, I always try to stay on top of that HOWEVER....I'm saving my pennies for a new computer first, a MUST DO before I go PT9. Times are tough it might take awhile...
