Can 002 be stand alone mixer for gigs etc?

Hi,

Just wanted to confirm that the 002 can infact be a stand alone mixer? and if it is very good for this purpose and what are your thoughts etc, also is it very heavy to carry!

It can be used for gigs - but a cheap Behringer mixer is easier to have beer spilled on it than your $2000 Digi 002 - Right?

Yes the 002 can be used as a stand alone mixer and it has a bunch of on-board eq, compression and, I believe, reverbs/delays. However it's worth noting that it only has 4 XLR inputs which could be very limiting. It is not heavy and is easily transportable. While I do have one I've never used it for a live gig, I also would be interested to hear other users comments.

Yes, it can be used as a standalone mixer. Yes, it has only 4 mic preamps. Yes, there is onboard compression and effects.
I have used it for a gig...1 wireless mic, and a stereo line input. It was in a smokefree bar where I could operate it in the DJ booth, far from spilled beer. it worked quite well, but YMMV. Give it a try, it might be just what u need!
