Default Pro Tools 7.4.2 Slow to Load Plugins

I'm running a Mac Pro (10.5.6) with 16 gigs of ram, Pro Tools 7.4.2, and 3 HD cards.

I've noticed Pro Tools takes a verry long time to load up plug-ins like Waves, Indigo, pretty much any plugin that doesn't automatically come with Pro Tools (which load fine).

When I say "very long time", a session with 10 waves plugins could take 5 minutes to load. The ram & HD cards seem to be connected & working fine. Any ideas?

Thanks.
