I have not experienced any 'correlation issues', not with 'normal', stereo use anyway.

I tested the 2098 in Jack's M/S scenario and I could reproduce the correlation meter drifting towards and into negative values only when I applied huge boosts to the Side signal without compensating for gain. I believe this is expected behavior, messing with the Side in such a way and all.

Holding on to my voucher for Bassdude's sake!

Thanks a lot, I'm on the same boat with the voucher!

I got the correlation errors in regular L/R. They're expected in M/S. Still sucks.

Okay, that's odd. I'm not seeing it.

(For the record, I was referring to the observations you posted in the PA thread on GS a while back which, if I recall correctly, described your experiences with the 2098 in M/S mode.)

Would it be possible that what you see is crosstalk coming from the random harmonic kajigger they put on it?

What are you talking about? There's two controls that possibly fit your description.

The thing that simulate different channels and has 2 numbers, I can't find a picture with enough resolution to see how it's called

It looks like TnT, TMT...

Yes you can turn off TMT. And when I did it didn't seem to make a difference. The only time it solidly stopped messing with the correlation was when I bypassed the whole plugin

As a test I put the Neve, SSL branded E & G strips (that PA sells) on inserts in a PT track in a test session. One audio track which fed one aux track where my metering was. For metering I used both the bx_meter and the freeware Flux Stereo Tool on inserts in the aux. One at a time I enabled each channel strip. Made some eq changes on each strip in different bands. TMT on and TMT off, selected different channels, messed with the v-gain and thd controls. With audio playing, other than level changes the metering showed NO change in correlation - everything stayed positive and the same as the track with no plugins enabled.

BTW today's 'star for one day' is the bx_dyn EQ. I only know about it via GS as I already have it and those that already have a plugin don't get the notification emails when it goes on discount. Still got my $50 voucher - waiting for either Phil's Cascade or Black Box HG2 to drop in price.
