Does anyone know where to get free or cheap plugins for Protools LE on Windows XP?

Re: Free/Cheap Plugins
Well, the field is very thin for Free....
Fortunately, the one example I'm aware of, Sampletank FREE, is a real bargin. Very useful in it's free version. You will most likely, happily, buy a paid version when you've found it's limitations. http://www.sampletank.com/Main.html?STFreeDwn As for cheap, there are some bundles that are reasonable.... considering the hardware they replace. Waves Ren I & II comes to mind. There are free Demo versions at most sites that sell to the RTAS market. Re: Free/Cheap Plugins
Rule of Thumb: You get what you pay (or don't pay) for.
In my experience using Cubase, I have found most (if not all) of the free/cheap plugins to be completely useless and/or very poor sound quality. I can't comment on free/cheap PT plugins as I'm not running PT yet (working on a deal for a 001 right now!! ), but I would imagine that the same holds true. Get the very best plugins that you can afford, or better yet - save up for some Waves plugins - and you'll be much happier with the results. Just my $.02, YMMV. Joel Kanning |
