Default Soft SampleCell expert, i need yr help!

Hi,

Looking if any of you Soft Sample Cell users have found an easy way to route SSC into a regular ProTools Audio track, instead of the conventional way using it as a soft synth on a MIDI track. Just my way of working, but I find it easier to just record my hardware sampler outputs into my 888 inputs and record the sounds, instead of on a MIDI track.

My goal is to replace my hardware samplers (EMUs) with SSC for better integration with PT. All my sounds are SFX which I trigger via a MIDI controller against picture. All sound design will be done inside ProTools.

Any help will be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

If you can hear it in protool, you can record it. If you use an aux return to hear it, send the out to a buss 5-6 for example. Then make a new stereo track, then choose as input the buss (5-6) you did choose for your aux out. That's simple!

I use SSC everyday to do post projects. It's great.
What I like to do is create x number of midi tracks and then add an aux and audio track right next to it. So it's like...
Punch (midi) Punch (Aux) Punch (audio)
Then I'll do all of my work within PT. When I'm done I just bus the Auxes to the audio tracks and print it. It's really easy. Sure beats the drag and drop method.

Just like remote, I use SSC every day too. Logic to sequence, PT for recording and monitoring in the background. Building the ultimate fight bank right now for this show we're working on. Works pretty well, I gotta admit.

Thanks guys!!!

I think this is the way to go.

Also when you open your PT sessions, don't the SSC banks open up and load all the files onto that session as well?

Another question with memory allocation in the SSC setup. I know in theory you can assign as much RAM to SSC, but the Sampler Memory pull down jumps from 128mb to ALL. Is there a way to assign more memory than 128mb than selecting all? I know I may never really big allocations since my SFX banks are fairly small (no 1 Gig Pianos), but should I want to program a bank of long backgrounds, I will need to have something like this.

Secondly, is there a way to print SSC directly to a PT audio track without having to first record a MIDI track. Any suggestions?

Thanks again a million!!!
