Upgrade From Mix3 to HD2 why not?
If the HD2 is more powerful than a Mix3 system. Why Can't I upgrade my Mix3 to an HD2. I don't need more power just want the latest gear. Digi is there a way to do this, maybe I'll get a rebate.

Re: Upgrade From Mix3 to HD2 why not?
Actually, I asked a Digi rep this very question last week. As it turns out, not ALL the upgrade offers are posted on the website, and the Mix3 --> HD2 option does exist. I'm embarrassed to say that we got talking about some other things and I neglected to get a price on it, but the delta will likely be similar to that of the cost of the various HD sytems.

Re: Upgrade From Mix3 to HD2 why not?
Hello,
I'd just like to take a second to clarify what Sound Guy Andy said... The Hardware Exchange Price List available on this web site DOES actually include all of the exchanges Digidesign offers. What Andre and I were talking about was that he could potentially trade in a MIX Core and a MIX Farm towards an HD 2 system. If a person were to do this, however, they would be missing out on the opportunity to get an additional HD Process card for only $1000 dollars more by trading in the equivalent of a MIX 3 (one core and two farms) instead. To be extra clear, there are no 3 card for 2 card Hardware Exchanges, and no additional discounts for doing so. By the way, Andre, the MIXplus to HD2 exchange is $2995 US Dollars between now and 06/30/02. Thanks everyone! Digidesign Product Information |

Re: Upgrade From Mix3 to HD2 why not?
Couldn't you just sell the extra Mix Farm that you wouldn't be using? Either that, or you could buy the HD 3 and sell one of the HD Process cards.
Plenty of options. Lee Blaske |

Re: Upgrade From Mix3 to HD2 why not?
I don't feel like spending another $5000.00 when I bought my system 5 1/2 months ago. If the HD2 system is as powerful as a Mix3 why not have a path for that for say $1995.

Re: Upgrade From Mix3 to HD2 why not?
Well I guess simply because digi wants the balance (cash/returned material) to be sufficiently high.

I am currently running Mix3 with 882 and it looks that you can't even use 882 with PT HD systems via legacy port. |
