Default My PC can\'t handle PT LE anymore

Hello,

I've got a 3.2GHz P4 PC with 2 Gb of RAM.
I bought it 2,5 years ago.

I only use it for Music Production and I have the following installed:

Pro Tools LE 7.3
Waves PLatinum Bundle
Music Production Toolkit
G-rack Bundle
Producer Bundle
East West Symphonic Orchestra Silver Edition
Garritan Personal Orchestra
And several single Bomb Factory + Digidesign plugins

The last weeks I noticed that the PC was getting troubles by crashing PT.

What is the best option to upgrade?
Put in more RAM?
I know that getting a dual core would be the best but I don't have the money now.

I'm looking forward to get tips from you.

Thanks,

Jetro van Papeveld - The Netherlands

Some more info on what your doing when it crashes would help.

From a hardware point your up against the wall, About all you can do is up the RAM to 4GBs.

A detailed components list would help but if you have a 3.2 P4 I'm going to assume you have one of the later P4 motherboards with SATA and DDR400 and a 800MHz FSB.

if any of your Sample or Audio drives are not 7200 RPM upgrading them might help. Avoid buying any IDE drives at this point if you have open SATA connectors on your motherboard. Its getting harder to find new mother boards with IDE ports.

Thanks for your answer,

Everthing worked fine till a couple of time ago.
I'm not a computer techie and can't find the specs of my RAM.

It crashes when I open sessions that didn't give me problems before but now I can't really doing anything, really frustrating.
I guess maybe a RAM upgrade for the go and quick start saving money for a new machine.

Tonight a friend of mine comes to help me maybe he can find the specs you've asked.
When he does, I put it all online

Thank you

Try deleteing all of the Digidesign Database folders on all of your hard drives and restart the computer. It may help
