Default Question about PT 10 Templates

I would like to create a template that is setup for a new session with 8 channels and all channels "record armed" so I dont have to keep hitting each channel every time I create a new session.

In other words when the template creates the session, the channels' record button is already set on, so I just have to hit the master record button.

Searching through the forum did not reveal an answer to this specific item.

Does the template creation also save the window placements etc?

Thanks.

Hi, It saves the windows placements, but not record armed, although you can save input monitoring active (in HD). But you can select the tracks you want to arm, then Alt+Click one of them and it will arm all of the selected tracks.

I think it is Alt+Shift-Click for selected tracks only.

Why not create a mix group of the record tracks, with only "record enable" as an attribute ? Basically, just one click to record enable, after the session is loaded.

Why not save the desired window placement as a window configuration; and recall that by punching 3 keys on the num pad or one click in the window configurations window ?

Well I use Sharpkeys on pc to set up my keyboard like a Mac, but the original shortcut of Alt-Click works for me.

While(as said) you can't have tracks open in Record-ready, you can select all the tracks(click to select the first, hold SHIFT and click to select the last), then hold SHIFT-ALT and hit the record button on any of them(the Shift-alt will do to all selected). I think the Mac command would be Shift-Option?

Yeah, ok just ALT-Click record enables all active tracks - which might be an easy way for the OP to go. Apparently when I was testing it before, I was selecting all the active audio tracks anyway...
