Just Installed 6.7, Firmware Download Problems

Upgraded 6.4 to 6.7, everything went fine. Launching 6.7 I get a message that says, "The Digi002 Rack has system firmware version v1.20r which does not match the current system firmware version v1.21r. Would you like to download the current version? Please note, on some computers this may take as long as 10 minutes."

I start the download. After a minute it stops and says "Firmware download to Digi002 was unsuccessful. Please check connections and try again."

I've tried it several times and each time the same message appears. What's wrong/

I had this problem but it's worse! I can't get the DIGI 002 to come on anymore. It powers up to the extent that the mute light for the monitors comes on but that's it. Occasionaly a few garbled letters might appear in the scribble strips but usually everything's dead. According to the tech support pages I need to update the firmware, but I can't because Pro Tools won't start until it's detected the DIGI 002 - which won't start up!

This sounds more like a power harness issue... Call Digi support, they will send you the replacement for free.

I only got it a week ago. Would that change your opinion or do you just think I've been unlucky?

Well blow me down, you're right! After reading about this issue on other message boards, I was brave enough to take the back off, re-seat the power cables - it's easy, they're in a plastic block, just take it off and put it on again - and now it works.

Hopefully, Digidesign will prevent this problem in future models.

I have the same problem while updating the firmware,
i hope wont be the power harness issue because i received one week ago from the repair center, and its suposed to be solved.

I went to msconfig > startup and unchecked everything except for MMERefresh (digi). Rebooted. Everything works like a charm.
