Default Digi 002R Midi Port 3 in Midi Studio set up

Hello all,
So, I only just noticed something that I never paid attention to because I always only thought about the physical ports on my 002R.
I was in Midi Studio set up and noticed Port 3 available f with an In & Out connection.

What is this exactly? The only thing that has come to mind is virtual connection with a software application.
