M audio oxygen 3rd gen

Hi, I just purchased an M-audio oxygen 61key 3rd gen. I am running pt8 le on a mac osx. I can get it to "direct link and control the faders and pan knobs, etc. but i can get it to control the instruments on an instrument track. Any help will be great. I am kind of new to midi. Thanks in advance.
