Default Re: Free Pro Tools Application - Delete Prefs/Database now V2.1

PT HD 8.0.3 now saves PT prefs with the filename "Pro Tools HD Prefs", whereas the helper aspplication restores the prefs with the name "Pro Tools v8.0 Preferences" so the restored file is no longer referenced by Pro Tools.

Any chance of an update to fix this please?

No the App needs to be updated, as the way PT stores it's Database files has changed... you now need to MANUALLY go to

Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Digidesign/Databases/Unicode/Volumes

Make sure Pro-Tools is NOT launched, and trash everything in that folder. IF you've still got "Digidesign Database" folders, on the root of ANY of your Hard Drives, they can be trashed too, PT doesn't use them anymore... the App WILL get "Those" but not the ones proTools 8.0.3 is currently using.

Actually, the app doesn't need to be updated, as the "volume folder" is already included because it was used by previous versions of ProTools.

JC,
the app does not seem to be working in 8.0.3 anymore.
when i try to restore from a backup, my prefs do not come back. they default back to digi's setup.
i have tried this several times with no luck.

anyone else seeing this.

thanks in advance and thanks for this great app.

Click on the "open backup folder" and check if there is more than one preference file. If it's the case just delete the old one. It's a bug that I didn't fixe yet.

Hi JC, Great little app - Thanks!

I'm using PT 6.4.1 on OS 10.3 and i keep getting an error when i use the app.
I did all the files individually to find the culprit and it's the com.digidesign.protools.plist file. This is a normal one to get corrupted to, so i'm curious what the issue it.

This is what i get:
AppleScript Error
Can't get text 33 thru 0 of "". (-1728)

any help? Thanks.
Jive
