Yes I was thinking of that as well. It's weird that it works going down in pitch (No aliasing noise), but not up.
You can only go up by .50 cents anyway but down 3 semitones.

is this a 192k session perchance ?
does it exhibit this same behavior at all sample rates ? (maybe build 4 test sessions - 44.1k, 48k, 96k, 192k)

For what it's worth. My sync hd is v2.2.1. The only issue I've been having with the SYNC HD since moving to M2 mac is this and it has worsened with PT24.3.

Oh and I'm not using the analogue outs of the 8x8x8. I am monitoring via the AES outs and my speaker processor has SRCs on the AES in so that might be another difference. The quick test I did was at 48kHz.

That's funny. I remember now I used to get those "Frame rate mismatch" errors. They seem to be gone in the past year of updates. My Sync HD firmware is also 2.2.1. Doesn't look like there's been an update since 2014.

The session I'm using is at 48K.

I added a Focusrite Dante box to my system a while ago. I don't remember if I've tried varispeeding up since I installed that box. I'm going to do some tests today removing it.

Found it.

The Focusrite Dante box has an issue where it comes out of Loop Sync and defaults to internal (for no reason, it stays in Loop Sync for a month then flips by itself). It had flipped to internal. I moved it to Loop Sync and the noise goes away.

I wasn't using the Dante interface for the inputs, but it was in the loop.
