Default Start/Stop Markers Won't Stay in Place

I just upgraded to Pro Tools 10 and need to get some work done, but have spent the better part of an hour trying to find settings that will make the start/stop markers stay in place when I select a clip. Nothing in the Operation or Editing preferences having to do with Clips or Transport has any effect, no matter if I'm in Grid, Spot, Slip or Shuffle mode. Anytime I set the start/stop markers in the timeline, they're going to change as soon as I try and select a clip to edit. My previous version wasn't doing this.

Anyone have any advice on this?

Thanks.

Cayce

Un-link the timeline and edit selection.

Yeah... thanks again... gets so frustrating, it's hard to appreciate that I used to have to wrangle a wall full of analog gear to do what this program makes so easy.
