Eleven Rack and MPC 2000 XL SPIDIF not working

Hello, I have a Akai MPC 2000XL and the Eleven rack, the SPIDIF in on my Eleven rack will not accept the digital signal from my MPC. I have verified that the MPC SPIDIF out is working fine, by connecting to a DAT deck. Also, I have verified the Eleven rack SPIDIF in is working by connecting my Cable TV box digital audio out to it. I also tried using a SPIDIF to AES converter box, and that was a no go also.

Please help!

It could be a clocking issue. According to the manual, only 44k is supported, so if you're trying to do something at 48 or higher, that could be the issue.

Also, it may be that you need to set the 11R to external clock.

hey thanks for your input, my session is at 44.1 and yes, I set the clock to eleven rack external clock to SPIDIF, no love.

let me know if you have any other ideas.

And it didn't work if you set the 11R to internal either?

Other than that I don't know.

I also have a similar problem with a Maudio 2496 soundcard.
I need to have the soundcard AND the 11R on external to get sound...
I don't know what device decides the clock, I have nothing else sound-related, hardware or software. Really strange! I've played around with 44, 48, 88 and 96 also...

If I put either of them to internal there's only silence...

Hey, in the sample page of the MPC, i set the input to digital and analog, and still not "valid clock" in the eleven rack (or sound). Today I connected a Tascam DAT deck via spidif @ 44.1 k sample rate, and the eleven rack had a "valid clock". So its seems to be something specific with the Spidif signal from the MPC.

Also, I connected the MPC to a Pro Tools 192 I/O SPidif input, and was able to record into Pro Tools with no problem.

looks like I had a bad eleven rack, its now been shipped back to Avid for a RMA repair.

I just received my 11 rack back from Avid, and it has the same problem.
It was not fixed.
