And starts at $6,000. Looks like I made the right move to a Pro Tools PC. Lots of power on that new machine but man, that's steep. So once the cheese graters and trashcans are done with, there goes the $2,500 price point to enter the Apple Pro arena. Entry Mac Pro's been that price for at least 20 years (that I can remember). The exclusive Apple club continues its move up the price scale.

Yea, it's expensive.. then again, 20 years is a long time and 2500*1,04^20=5478 so it just means they have re-invented the 20yr old price point (assuming 4% inflation per year)

I suppose. Just thought "modular" meant something you could start at a lower price point then "modulate" up to a lot higher. But it looks like they started at higher and you move up from there.

Not anymore, they are eliminating iTunes! They played a huge part in dismantling the music business, however, it was inevitable post file sharing, people in general are flat out dishonest when nobody is watching, sadly.

In the end “we” as a society did this to ourselves.

Actually according to an article I read from the CNN site the new Mac Pro is bringing back the cheesegrater form factor. Said article even used the term 'cheesegrater'. Also as to cost keep in mind inflation.
