11R as a head for an Orange PPC112
I feel like I've looked everywhere for an example of someone who has done what I'm curious about doing, but I haven't come up with anything.
I have my Eleven Rack in a small rack case, and I would like to use it as a head for my Orange PPC112 1x12 60w cabinet. What rack power amp should I get for it, and would I get a decent quality sound out of this? I prefer the mic'd sound instead of going straight into FOH. Thanks! |

Re: 11R as a head for an Orange PPC112
There are lots of people doing this and there are lots of solutions.
First, do you want a tube power amp or a solid state power amp? Matrix Amplification makes some nice solid state power amps for use with modelers. Rocktron also makes some solid state amps. For tube, Mesa Boogie makes great stuff. Fryette also makes great tube power amps. If you don't need a rack power amp, Fryette also makes the Power Station which has multiple uses. There are many other options out there, these are just a few. |

I had a Peavey Classic 60/60 tube power amp connected to a 4x12" cab for years (still have it but don't use it anymore). It was totally incredible!!!
