Default drum/cymbal libraries with mallets

Using BFD2 and finding out info on what's exactly what in certain libraries isn't going well asking on their forums. Need cymbals with mallet hits. I know there are several that have those but nothing on fxpansion's website says exactly what cymbals have what hits be or sticks, mallets or brushes. Have asked in the forums but there's no real help. Maybe someone here can tell me what's what. Particularly interested in the Zildjian Digital Vault series they have (it's an all in one package now) and at half price until the end of the month so there's a bit of rush on.

Maybe someone can tell me what cymbals in that package have mallet hits? Don't want to spend the money on something that won't help.

In the FAQ for that product, it actually lists every cymbal, and in parentheses states if it's sticks, brushes, mallets, etc., for each one.

Here's the link:

Thanks; I really have to pay attention to their faq pages as I've missed info there that would have saved me posts and stuff and mental aggravation. At my age (60) I should know better

I know you're using BFD, BUT, with SD2 you can choose whether you want to use sticks or mallets on any of the drums/cymbals. Works ok.

I'm not sure if that's true for all libraries. I think it's the case with Roots, and maybe a couple of others, but not all.

I checked it out and not all cymbals have all implements (sticks/mallets/brushes) in Superior Drummer 2. Ditto for BFD. I just don't have the space for an acoustic kit in my studio to do it right so I need some electronic form to help out.

Don't let that prevent you from buying/renting/borrowing a decent cymbal, stand and mallets. That's just what I did the last time I needed this

Sad thing is in the Trenton NJ area there's only Guitar Center and one mom and pop store and they don't rent equipment . Want anything beyond bargain basement cymbals - we'll order it for you. Now if I can only find some trusting soul that will let me borrow his/her's equipment

You need to get friendly with some drummers(having beer in the fridge helps). "Yo dude, come on over for a beer or two......and bring a crash cymbal............"(a used stand and some mallets are cheap)

Yeah the Zildjian Digital Vault pack should include mallets. So lush to be able to create extraordinarily realistic cymbal swells with control.

Combined with V-Drums as the trigger, I mapped the bow of the cymbal to the mallets, and the edge to the stick, for a best of both worlds.
