Pt10 mp3 option

Is Protools 10 mp3 option free? I bought the MPTK2 for protools 9 and it was working just fine until i installed PT10. Now its saying demo session expired.

You should try trashing preferences and also let us know what's inside the Codecs>MP3 folder inside your Pro Tools folder. The MP3 option is included in Pro Tools 9 and higher.

I keep getting the same message on my protools screen when trying to export an MP3 in Protools 10.

The MP3 option cannot be enabled because: Module initialization failed for MP3.dll The MP3 demo period may have expired.


Avid>ProTools>DAE>Codecs>MP3

In the MP3 codec folder I just have MP3.DLL

Common File>Digidesign>DAE>Codecs>MP3

this folder is empty

I'm having the exact same issue. Same circumstances and the same folders/files. If anybody has any information or help on this topic.

Win 7-64 Home Pro
Pro Tools 10

Windows, Pro Tools and iLok are all up to date.

Never tried to use the MP3 feature until now and it's telling me the same thing.

I'm curious too, having the same problem now in pts 10.3.10
mp3.dll is there but after renewing iLok licenses I've got to authorize it since yesterday.... :-/

Of course
Otherwise your mp3 option won't work anyway...

When you're installing the option, or installing any version of pro tools a message is appearing you should install quicktime (if it's not on your computer) for exporting mp3's

I just got a reply from Jeffro @avid that the mp3export error in PT10 is solved. I deactivated and then activated again my perpetual license on my iLok and everything is working fine now. Hopefully for everyone
