Default GarageBand and MBox 2 Pro

Help Digi!

I teach a music technology class and we have a Mac lab equipped with iMac computers for the students and a Mac Pro for the instructor station. All are equipped with MBox 2 Pro interfaces. I have PT8 LE installed on all. All are running Leopard.

This summer I installed OS X 10.5 Server on the instructor station. On that station only, I am having problems getting GarageBand to work with the MBox 2 Pro. I run the Audio MIDI Setup utility, and all is fine. I get GB sound out of the MBox. Then, for no apparent reason, it stops working. I can trash prefs or re-run the Audio MIDI setup...same thing happens. Works for a while, then doesn't.

I have no problems on the student stations. Does this have something to do with the server software? Very frustrating.

Try this:

Quit out of all open applications.

Trash the following preference files:

1. Mac HD > Users > (Your User Name) > Library > Preferences > com.apple.systempreferences.plist (delete this file)
2. Mac HD > Users > (Your User Name) > Library > Preferences > com.apple.audio.AudioMIDISetup.plist (delete this file)
3. Mac HD > Users > (Your User Name) > Library > Preferences > com.digidesign.CoreAudioManager.plist (delete this file)
4. Mac HD > Users > (Your User Name) > Library > Preferences > ByHost > com.apple.systempreferences.xxxxxxxxxxxx.plist (delete this file)
5. Trash the DigidesignCoreAudio.plugin from the folder located at MacHD>Library>Audio>Plug-Ins>HAL.

Empty the trash, restart and let me know if it's working or not.
