"But I could play sound just ten minutes ago."
I was recording earlier and had enough space to playback the audio.
Now every time I hit play I get an error message that reads: "DAE can't get audio from the drive(s) fast enough. Your drive may be too slow or fragmented, or a firewire drive could be having trouble due to the extra firewire bandwith or CPU load." I don't use a firewire though. I've just used so much space that I can't even effectively use the disk defragmenter. My next purchase is going to be an external hard drive to clear some space and defrag the computer. 3 questions: 1. Is there anyway I could clear space up again or fix the problem of not being able to play anything I've recorded? 2. is it a good idea to save sessions to an external hard drive? Are there any recommendations for what type of external hard drive I should use? 3. I have an IDE/ATA internal drive. Should I use this or record through an eternal hard drive? Thanks |

Re: "But I could play sound just ten minutes ago."
im having the same problem too and just looking to buy an external hard drive , but what i did when recording was 1) try increasing your cpu usage limit at play back engine
2) go to preferences> operation > and set the time of recording to like 20 or 30 3) uncheck the save backup at the preferences but this a bit risky but try to save your work , what i notice was that PT keep saving a back up copy at a spec time so i guess this might be putting more presure on the hard drives and i try not to save very often when i did this it tends to not poping the error like b4 but to get an external hard drive is the best |
