"A new version of Avid Pro Tools is coming to AES NY 2017... Follow our live updates from the AES show floor from October 18-20."

Attached is a screen shot from Avid's instagram page, it mentions they'll be "showcasing music creation, pro mixing, immersive audio & live sound solutions" at AES New York 2017.

That must (hopefully) mean a midi functionality update as well as other stuff!!
