How do ya\'ll keep track of the good takes?
Just wondering how eveyone likes to keep track of the good takes, the keepers. I tend to mark the audio region with an "*". Any other ideas or easier methods?

Make a sheet, when you like the take, write it down (like the file name whatever will help you remember)

Just use the virtual tracks in pro tools and put a good description of the performance.

Re: How do ya\'ll keep track of the good takes?
I mainly just make "new playlists",, I feel that is the best way. You can make as many "new playlists" as you want, individually name them , and on top of ALL that they don't count as part of your track count !!!!!!
Look up "playlists" in your manual, and start doing it. I personally gaurentee you will be a fan of "Playlists" They are also the best kept secret for how we make the "radio/clean" version of the vocals, and keep everything else in the mix absolutely the same, and WITH-OUT having to have 2 different sessions.... Too long for me to describe here, but once you learn how they work, and how to manipulate them,,,"Playlists" are AWESOME !!!!!!!! Hope this helps -- |

I've always wanted Digi to add a "stickie" label function that you can put over any track or tracks. It'd be great to stretch a label over say 0:30 of a particular take saying "great vox" or whatever. I think this would be so much easier than using markers or playlists.

I second what Infa said.
I will have as many playlists as it takes then make a great take out of them. I call the best one Keeper. |

Playlists is what i meant by virtual tracks, which is exactly what playlists are.

Re: How do ya\'ll keep track of the good takes?
Digi specifies that the "*" is an illegal character for PT file names so I'd stay away from this method!
