Default Fonts In Trash on Bootup

Anyone getting recovered files in the trash upon bootup? If I don't run Pro Tools, they don't appear on reboot. But after running sessions, a recovered files folder with various .ttf files shows up in there after restart. I have tried the normal trashing and permissions routines.

None of those fonts are installed on my system. You may want to use /Applications/Font Book to verify that all of the fonts on your system are ok. You can do this by launching the app, select the All Fonts collection, do a select all in the Font column, then choose Validate Fonts from the File menu.

Thank you very much, Jonathan. I will try this. How strange.. this is a brand new install of 10.6, odd that these fonts would get installed.

Did you install any other software using an installer application? A drag-and-drop install (i.e. Firefox) probably does not install any fonts. An application like Microsoft Word does install fonts.

These are windows TrueType fonts, I have seen the same thing on one of my machines. Doesn't seem to have any impact other than they show up in the trash. Do you have OpenOffice installed?

Strange. Thanks for the tips. I don't have OpenOffice but I do have MSOffice which might be the culprit. PT system is just fine so I guess it's not a big deal, but I'm super OCD about having a clean system so this is merely an annoyance. I ran the validation in fontbook and it came up with 4 duplicates, none related to the fonts I posted about earlier.

Cheers.

I have the exact same fonts showing up in the 'recovered files' folder every time I boot up.
I don't have MS Office or any kind of office suite installed.
Very weird indeed.

I'm running PT HD 8.1.1 on MacOS 10.6.6.
Other than PT, I have Wavelab, Wave Editor, Automap, VST to RTAS Adapter installed.

Any clue here?

Hey xq3js. I can't seem to rid my system of this issue no matter what pest control I employ. Annoying but I just empty the trash on boot... haven't yet noticed any adverse effects.
