Default Win to Mac?

Hi:

I have been using Protools 8 for a very long time on a Windows platform. Recently, due to some issues with my windows PC, I am wanting to install Protools 8 on my Imac, and am wondering if this is possible.

Some info:

I have a 2009 Imac
I have my original Pro Tools install CDs: one for Windows and one for Mac
I bought Protools from my local music store, and it also came with a USB dongle. Right now, the dongle is sitting in my Windows PC.
The version of Protools 8 I have is the M-Powered version.
I am using M-Audio Fast Track Ultra as my sound module.

Questions:

1. Do you think it's possible for me to simply install Pro Tools 8 on the Imac, and pop the USB Dongle into my Imac?

2. My Mac Install disk is very old. Does anyone know where I could get the latest version of Protools 8, that would work with the M-Powered version and the dongle?

Thanks for reading this. I appreciate the help.

The answer to question one depends on how you answer this one: is the OSX that's on the iMac compatible with PT8? To answer that you have to look at this page: http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/e...tibility-Chart

The answer to question two is here: http://secure.digidesign.com/service.../downloads.cfm

No problem. Those links are something everyone should know or at least keep in their back pocket; bookmark them as you'll need them in the future.
