First thing-look near the top of this(and every) DUC page and click the link called Help Us Help You. Have a good read and come back with the proper info or nobody will be able to offer any help.

Next-go to youtube and watch a few videos on GETTING STARTED WITH PRO TOOLS.

Then-review and implement all the required system tweaks(the Learn and Support link will help here)

Assuming you have a dedicated interface, hold the N key while opening PT and select that interface as the "audio engine".

If you are on Windows, open Windows Sound Properties and set the "default playback device" to the on-board sound card(realtek?) to leave the interface free for Pro Tools use.

All good suggestions from albee, and be sure to try them.
Without any information, we really have no idea how to fix your issue.
At a minimum, tell us what you are using as an audio interface. If it is the onboard sound device on your computer, then you really can't expect much since this is a less than optimal setup. Windows and PT generally do not like to share sound devices, so you typically need to tell Windows to not use whatever it is PT is using. When you have your session open, check the track with audio on it and make sure the output is assigned to the output you want to hear audio from. Sometimes PT will default to digital IO or something else, which is a valid output device and PT will send audio to it, but if you are not hooked up to that output, you will never hear anything.

Again, try some of these suggestions and post more information about your system so we can take a better shot at helping you.

Looking at the op's profile he's running a 21.5 inch iMac with High Sierra and PT 2020.5 and some Maudio interface. That's assuming his profile in correct. Nothing further like ram, system drive specs.
