Weird problem with MIC being on when not recording

Hello I have an Apollo Twin MKII, 4K imac and Pro Tools 12. For some odd reason randomly my mic is on when I'm not recording. Pro tools can be closed and I can still hear my mic. Does anyone have any insight on what could fix this.

Well clearly it's not Pro Tools... so what other software do you have that is accessing the Microphone? Start at Audio/MIDI setup... then UAD Console...

Look in the Apollo console s/w - your problem is there.

Yes what Musicman691 said. Turn rec off in the Console and see if that does it.

There is no "rec" in Console.

The OP simply needs to mute/cut that channel in Console.

SUNNEDC, this is a feature of the Apollo system. The ability to simply pick up an instrument and hear it, or sing into a mic and hear it without having to mess around with your DAW.

Sorry, I just woke up 23 hrs in front of an SSL desk. I would probably have meant the monitor section.

And Sunnedc the Console software can do a lot more than just direct monitor and you will want to spend time working out how to insert plugins there, track dry and/or wet tracks, build different cue/monitoring mixes etc. via the Console. Even if you are not sure you will use it, it is worth learning what is possible.
