Re: When a little speaker icon appears...
Are you thinking of the Mac sound icon? That's controlled by the three keys immediately to the left of the eject key on the standard Apple keyboard? It should only be up there for a second or two before it fades away. Are you using a non-Apple keyboard, or perhaps a strange assignment in QuicKeys? Could a key be defective and sticking?

Re: When a little speaker icon appears...
Ok Lee I've been not very accurate in my decription ... I'm using and talking about ProTools 6.1, the scrubber icon appears in place of the normal cursor, I don't know how could I make it come out and how can I get back to my cursor !!!

You might want to take a look at the manual now and then...It's a big system and there's a lot to learn. Steve

Re: When a little speaker icon appears...
Steve maybe you won't believe it but I'm using PT since 5 years now so I think to know it quite well and its manuals too I know it's a big big system!!! Ok I don't have selected (incidentally or not) the scrub tool, I don't have the relative icon on the top bar selected so I can't de-select it by clicking on the normal cursor icon because I'm already in the normal cursor operation... but still the cursor appears like the scrubber tool. I must have hit a strange key combination and can't get back. Even if I close the session when I re-open it the scrubber appears again. I have to quit PT and restart it !

Re: When a little speaker icon appears...
In 5.1.3 the behavior happens as you say, but the function appears to be normal scrubbing. It reverts back to its normal state when you release the keys on my system (cmd-opt-cntrl)
