Changing the default of all tracks selected
Hello,
I'm on an iMac Pro 2017 and am using Pro Tools 2019.12 I am working on any project, and whether it is some mouse click I am accidentally doing or the default system in Pro Tools, I do any action and then want to select a track and I see that ALL tracks are already selected. This is not rare, it's all the time. I turn to do something specific and ALL tracks are selected. If I forget this momentarily and try to duplicate a track, suddenly Pro Tools is duplicating every track in the project because of a setting I did NOT do. Is there ANY way to set this differently in Pro Tools Preferences? I looked through the preferences and didn't see anything myself. I appreciate any assistance/advice on this. Thanks. Frank |

Re: Changing the default of all tracks selected
Might be "Link Track and Edit Selection"?

Changing the default of all tracks selected
Maybe the “all” group is active?

Re: Changing the default of all tracks selected
This has been a pain since way back in the mists of time. For some reason from time to time PT's edit screen will show all tracks as selected even if you don't have the 'all' group enabled (I never use it). The method I use to fix this is to click material in the track (audio or MIDI) and that will just show said track as selected.

Re: Changing the default of all tracks selected
I think Musicman hit the idea. I was just starting to notice that clicking into the audio-wave form automatically selects that one (1) track.
Many Thanks for your suggestions. |
