14 days for refund/exchange without restocking fee, also 30 days return policy with restocking although I've seen many exceptions where Apple waived the restocking fee when it was right after a hardware update.

So basically after the 14 days apple charges an upgrade fee, even if there's exception, they still do.

Restocking is upgrading.

Yet those that bought (registered) pt 9 on and after oct 1rst do not get charge. 24 days now. I think it's human nature for people to "feel" cheated and whine about it.

And comparing software versus hardware upgrades is weak anyway. What's the free/discounted upgrade policy for people who just bought protools hardware just before this announcement?

And Digi stopped selling PT9 when 10 was announced on October 20. I guess some people may find a copy at third party dealers but for the most part that's a 20 day window.

I'm just stating that their grace period is 14 days compared to the exchange period avid proposes now.

Heck I haven't even seen an exchange period in apples software.

There have been plenty. Most recent example - 10.7 shipped on July 20, anyone who got a machine with 10.6 after June 6 got a free upgrade. 44 days.
