MacBook Pro w/ snow leopard + Installing/upgrading

I just bought a MacBook pro, which has snow leopard. Previously I was running PT 7 on my iMac, and I have the 7.1 install disc. From what I've read, there is no way to operate 7 on snow leopard.

Is there any other way to get PT8 on my MacBook via upgrade, or do I have to buy something that includes 8LE?

You don't need to buy an interface to get Protools 8, you can just buy Protools 8, usually $150. Most Guitar Centers and Sam Ash's have the disc versions, or you can buy it downloadable from the Avid web store.

It's a full installer, so you don't need to have PT7 on the computer, in fact it's recommended you don't.

You can buy the upgrade through the Avidstore for around $150, over here in the UK you can get an Mbox Micro for not much more which would include the software, great piece of kit.

Just be aware if you have an original Mbox it won;t work with Snow Leopard. you need an Mbox 2 or 002/003.
