Default 6.4.1 Mac and OMF from Recent Avids

Hi -
I have over the last few months started to experience problems with omf files from newer PC Avid systems (Could be from Macs as well - not tested any)

When I import the omf, Protools will crash - I thought the problem was on my side, but recently had to do a complete new install on a new drive after a HD crash. The problem persist, but only with AVID OMF's, not the ones from FCP. I have to open the omf in a Protools 7.3 LE version on another Mac first, and then import from that Protools session into 6.4.1

Anyone got a solution?

Mac os 10.3.9 (With Quicktime 6.5.2)
Protools 6.4.1 Cs4
Mac G4 Dual 1.4

Thanks

Stef

Does Pro Tools crash with any kind of error message?

How are the OMF's being created - referenced or embedded? Which Avid system is creating them?

Doesn't MC3.0 have pre 7.4 and post 7.4 OMF export now?

I prefer AAF from Avid for ProTools anyway

Thanks Digi Tech Support!!!

I imported an omf to send you the crash report, and then it came to me!
The OMF's that crashed Protools where all delivered on DVD-r - I copied it to my HD, but never set the permissions of the embedded omf files (from read only) to READ&WRITE!!!

Now it works perfectly!
