Default OT: PT user learning Logic - advice please

I'm a hardcore ProTools guy - but I've decided to learn Logic (for business reasons)
Does anyone know of a book/video/DVD/etc. that helps "translate" ProTools habits/functions/workflow
into Logic "speak" (kind of a DAW Berlitz method!)...Needless to say it's frustrating feeling like a beginner (again). I've definitely lost my "mojo".
I've found plenty of literature on Logic - but nothing that explains it it ProTools terms (where applicable) Wondering if such a thing exists????
thanks in advance

In my (thankfully limited) experience with Logic I've found it best to not think about how I'd do things in Pro Tools at all. Honestly, the platform is so different that you just have to submit to the strangeness... It does get easier but it still feels a bit like riding a bike with square wheels to me--I can always get there faster and more smoothly with Pro Tools. If I have to I'll work with Logic... but I might charge extra.

thanks for the insight
I'm curious if your experience is with Logic 8? (or an older version?)
I've always heard how un-intuitive Logic is.....but the revamped Logic 8 seems
somewhat "logical".

but the loss of my ingrained PT key commands is killing me!

I've tried to dabble in the logic world and too be honest as a hardcore pro tools users your probably at a slight disadvantage as i guess logic is more similar to the likes of cubase. The only one saving grace i had was that you could totally modify all of the key commands in logic to be like pro tools, this made things a little easier but in the end i just gave up because the functionality of the application annoyed me. My experience was with express 7.

Cheers

I was a long time Cubase user before I moved to PT...and Logic is nothing like Cubase..

Hi: I am also starting to learn Logic 8 - it is quite different from Pro Tools, as mentioned above. And you really do have to put your PT processes to one side, to learn Logic 8.

I am starting to work through "Logic Pro 8 and Logic Express" by David Nahmani from the Apple Pro Training Series. Mr Nahmani also hosts the Logic section of the Logic Pro Help forum. So he is available to answer questions, and often participates.

Logic Pro Help

The book is fine, not quite as good as Keane's "Musician's Guide to Pro Tools," but it does the job.

You can check out our tutorial videos.

http://www.grooveboxmusic.com/store/...explained.html

We have tons of stuff on Pro Tools, as that is where we got our start, but I think you will find our Logic 8 training easy to digest and great for a new user or someone transitioning.

(sorry for the self-serving post, just wanted to mention so everyone knew that we were doing Logic training now too )

All the best,
Asa
